Lviv wrestler Ivan Zalisko claimed bronze at the U20 World Freestyle Wrestling Championships. In the bout for third place he defeated a Russian athlete, despite trailing 0:4 at the start of the contest.
Zalisko secured his World Championship bronze medal on Ukraine’s National Flag Day and on the eve of Independence Day, which lent his success special symbolism.
Ivan Zalisko is a protégé of coaches Vitalii Borysenko and Rostyslav Pervachuk. After returning from the competition, he shared his emotions and impressions of his performance in an interview with journalist Alla Vaskovska from TRK «PERSHYI ZAKHIDNYI».
