At the European Junior Modern Pentathlon Championships, held in Barcelona from 29 June to 5 July, athletes from Lviv region Oleh Rybak and Maksym Kovalchuk distinguished themselves. As part of the Ukrainian national team, they claimed a series of top-tier honours.
Modern pentathlete from Lviv region Oleh Rybak stood on the top step of the podium three times. He won gold in the individual event, became champion in the men’s relay together with Danylo Sych from Zhytomyr region, and also in the team competition, where the trio of Oleh Rybak, Maksym Kovalchuk and Danylo Sych once again secured first place.
Oleh Rybak is coached by Tarnakin V.V., Stetskovych S.R., Haravska Yu.S. and Tarnakina O.B. Maksym Kovalchuk trains under the guidance of Fialkovych O.V., Kovalchuk A.M. and Tarnakin V.V.
