At the Ukrainian Championship in ICO Combat Self-Defence, which took place from 1st to 3rd May in Brovary, athletes from the Lviv Region won nearly two dozen medals. The event gathered 956 participants competing in 4 rings, 3 tatami areas, and the octagon.
Lviv Region was represented by 7 athletes. They claimed 5 gold, 10 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Ukrainian champions included Yulia Lazurko, Snizhana Vinnychenko (two awards), Roman Poletko, and Maria Bilobran.
“Ahead lies a new challenge. On 15th May, the Ukrainian national team will depart for the European Championship in Germany. The team will include six athletes from the Lviv Region,” announced Roman Khimyak, the head of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
