An open city cup in freestyle wrestling took place in Drohobych, marking an important event for the local community. The competition was held at Gymnasium No. 5 named after Major General Serhiy Kulchytskyi, where 125 participants from 14 teams of Lviv region gathered. This was reported by the Drohobych City Council.
The tournament began with a minute of silence to honour the fallen defenders of Ukraine, followed by the National Anthem. Participants were greeted by representatives of the sports community and local authorities, including the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Drohobych City Council, Oleksandr Zolochevskyi, honoured coaches of Ukraine Viktor Pervachuk and Stepan Ivanyuk, as well as the director of SDYUSHOR “Spartakivets” Rostyslav Pervachuk.
The event was supported by the Drohobych City Council, DMO FST “Spartak” and SDYUSHOR “Spartakivets”, as well as with the assistance of local businesses. Trainees from the Drohobych branch of SDYUSHOR “Spartakivets” and DMO FST “Spartak” demonstrated a high level of preparation, securing a number of prize-winning places.
