
Cycling Competition in Honor of Hero Andriy Kutsenko
The large-scale cycling event Zhovkva Cup Race 2025 is dedicated to the memory of our fellow countryman, talented cyclist Andriy Kutsenko.
Participation and Event Program
Around two hundred male and female cyclists from 13 regions of Ukraine will compete in Zhovkva on April 26-27. During the award ceremony and closing, a film about Andriy Kutsenko will be presented to all participants and guests.
The Life Path of Andriy Kutsenko
35-year-old Zhovkva resident Andriy Kutsenko was a Ukrainian international-class sports master, winner, and prize-winner of international competitions, a participant in European and world championships, and a multiple champion of Ukraine. For ten years (2006-2016), he represented Lviv region in the national cycling team of Ukraine on track.
With the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he returned from Italy, where he lived with his family, and volunteered to join the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He defended his native land on different front lines for over two years. His last battle was with the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade ‘Mahura’ of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
