
Cyclists from Lviv region won 50 awards at the Ukrainian Track Cycling Championships on the open track, which took place from 30 May to 4 June in Kyiv among men and women under 23, junior men and junior women.
In total, athletes from Lviv region claimed 17 gold, 22 silver and 11 bronze medals.
Among the juniors in the 1,000-metre standing start race, gold went to Vladyslav Holiak, silver to Mykola Dilnyi and bronze to Oleh Smolynets. In the 3 km individual pursuit, Vladyslav Holiak took 1st place and Anton Sytnikov came 3rd.
In the omnium race among juniors, the winner was Oleh Smolynets, with bronze going to Arsenii Matskiv. Among men under 23, the bronze medal was won by Matvii Khatsynskyi. In the keirin race among juniors, gold was won by Oleh Smolynets, silver by Stanislav Leshchyk, and among men under 23, 2nd place went to Nazar Pavych.
In the scratch race among juniors, the winner was Vladyslav Holiak, and among men under 23 the silver medal went to Matvii Khatsynskyi. In the sprint among juniors, silver was won by Vladyslav Leshchyk, in the under-23 category gold went to Nazar Pavych, and among junior women the champion was Anna Pukii.
In the team race among juniors, gold medals were won by Oleh Smolynets, Vladyslav Holiak, Mykola Dilnyi and Andrii Mechnikov. The silver set of awards went to the team of Nazar Rudiak, Yaroslav Besaha, Arsen Matskiv, Anton Sytnikov and Dmytro Konanets. Among men under 23, the champion was Matvii Khatsynskyi, with silver going to Andrii Holovchenko. Among junior women, bronze medals were claimed by Olena Lahotska, Sofiia Biletska and Nataliia Kuzyk, and a silver medal was also won by Veronika Selezniova.
In the team sprint, representatives of LFKS again led the way: gold medals went to Stanislav Leshchyk and Mykola Dilnyi, and silver to Anton Sytnikov and Yaroslav Besaha. Among junior women, gold was won by Anna Pukii, while silver medals went to Olena Lahotska, Nataliia Kuzyk and Veronika Selezniova. In the men’s under-23 category, the gold medal was won by Nazar Pavych.
The madison pair races provided a spectacular finale to the championships. Among juniors, gold went to the pairing of Oleh Smolynets and Vladyslav Holiak, silver to the duo of Anton Sytnikov and Andrii Mechnikov, and bronze to the pair of Arsen Matskiv and Artur Stetsiv. In the men’s under-23 category, third place went to Matvii Khatsynskyi and Andrii Holovchenko.
From 24 to 28 June, the village of Rozluch in Lviv region will host the national road cycling championships in the Olympic programme events, where men and women, under-23 athletes, junior men and junior women will compete.
