
Ukraine’s junior modern pentathlon team have won gold in the team standings at the World Championships, which are taking place in Kaunas (Lithuania) from 23 to 29 July. The title-winning line-up includes athlete of the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Sports Professional College” Oleh Rybak.
In the individual standings, Oleh Rybak finished 12th among the world’s strongest juniors, scoring 1517 points. His best result came in the fencing, where he placed fourth, while in the laser run discipline he finished in 10:08.26.
Together with Danylo Sych, who became world vice-champion in the individual event, and Maksym Kovalchuk, the Ukrainian athletes secured team gold at the World Championships. With this result, the Ukraine team have for the second time in a row confirmed their status as the strongest junior modern pentathlon team in the world.
At the Lviv Sports Professional College they thanked the athlete’s coaches – Merited Coaches of Ukraine Nataliia Rohovenko and Vitalii Tarnakin, as well as coach Oleh Fialkovych – for preparing Oleh Rybak for the World Championships and for their contribution to this achievement.
