The “Verkhovyna” Ensemble Raised UAH 101,000 for a Veteran’s Prosthetic During a Charity Concert in Drohobych

On Sunday, January 12, the Ivan Franko Cultural Center in Drohobych hosted a charity Christmas concert organized by the Honored Prykarpattia Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine, “Verkhovyna.”

The event, titled “Christmas Verkhovyna,” brought together a full house of spectators, including Drohobych residents and visitors, uniting them through the celebration of Ukrainian culture. Its primary goal was to raise funds for purchasing a prosthetic for Victor Sholtoyan, a serviceman who lost his leg defending Ukraine.

The event was held under the patronage of Drohobych Mayor Taras Kuchma and supported by the city’s Department of Culture and Tourism Development. The department’s head, Volodymyr Kkhanas, congratulated the audience on the holiday season and encouraged continued support for Ukrainian soldiers, both at the front and at home.

Charity Auction

One of the highlights of the evening was a charity auction featuring:

  • Drohobych souvenir salt;
  • A custom t-shirt with the Verkhovyna logo;
  • Paintings and icons on shingles created by students of Drohobych Children’s Art School;
  • A certificate for sewing an embroidered shirt;
  • A handcrafted icon embroidered by Victor Sholtoyan’s mother.

The auction was conducted by showman Oleksandr Serdyuk. Concurrently, donations were collected in the hall and lobby of the Cultural Center, as well as via an open bank account accessible through a QR code.

Results of the Event

The charity concert raised UAH 101,483, which will be used to purchase a prosthetic for the soldier.

This festive event, filled with folk dances, carols, and theatrical performances, became a symbol of unity among Ukrainians in their support for defenders. The “Verkhovyna” ensemble wished everyone peace, prosperity, and, most importantly, a swift victory for Ukraine.
