Lviv region is actively working on creating a Regional Strategy for National Memory Policy.
“The national memory strategy that we are developing in Lviv is not only about what has already happened but also about how we envision our tomorrow. It is a tool that helps envision our region in a few years, define the values we will adhere to, and clearly understand who is an ally and who is an enemy”, said the head of the region Maksym Kozytskyi.
The final text of the Strategy is planned to be presented by the end of the year. The formation of this document involved the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Oleksandr Alferov, historian and journalist Vakhtang Kipiani, historian and archaeologist Vitalii Liaszka.
The head of the region thanked everyone working on the document and emphasized: deepest respect and gratitude to our soldiers, as it is they who prove on the front line every day that Ukraine has the right to be free, strong, and independent.
“Our shared duty is to form true Ukrainian narratives, to preserve Ukrainian national memory, and pass it on to future generations. This is not just a document, not just a single act, it is a long and complex process that requires daily effort from each of us”, he emphasized.
