This Saturday, June 7, the Solomiya Krushelnytska Museum in Lviv will reopen its doors with a fully renovated exhibition. For the first time, visitors will have access to the museum’s complete collection, not just a portion as before. Admission to the event is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
The new exhibition, designed by Lviv-based artist Volodymyr Kostyrko, follows an ensemble concept, allowing for a cohesive storytelling experience within the memorial space. At the heart of the display remains the central narrative: the international triumphs of Solomiya Krushelnytska, one of the most celebrated opera singers of her time.
The exhibition features:
-
rare photographs of Krushelnytska in her iconic stage roles
-
opera posters from performances around the world
-
excerpts from international reviews
-
images of famous opera partners with whom she performed
Visitors will also be able to hear Krushelnytska’s voice, preserved on early 20th-century archival records.
🔹 Museum Director Taras Demko commented:
“This new format allows us to tell Solomiya’s incredible story in a fresh and immersive way. Despite wartime challenges, we’ve reimagined the space to reflect her greatness with contemporary relevance.”
🔹 Chief Curator Iryna Kryvoruchka added:
“All exhibition materials are part of Krushelnytska’s personal archive preserved by the museum.”
