The fifth “Drohobych Vernissage” on Zamkova Hora Square in Drohobych marked the start of the community’s tourist season and brought together residents and visitors of the city for a large open-air arts event. This was reported by Drohobych City Council.
Throughout the day, the square turned into an open-air space with art exhibitions, creative zones and the charity fair “Drohobytskyi Kram”, where folk artists and craft makers from various regions of Ukraine presented their creations. Part of the proceeds raised at the fair will be directed to supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the event, those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers and thanked the defenders for the opportunity to live and create in the city under wartime conditions.
Artists, creative studios, students and arts groups from the community presented their works at the vernissage. Visitors could view paintings, decorative art, designer jewellery and various handmade items.
As part of the “Drohobych Vernissage”, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the tourism quiz “Ivan Franko’s Drohobych”. The teams received certificates and commemorative gifts from Yurii Kushlyk, Deputy Mayor for Humanitarian and Social Affairs.
First place in the quiz went to the team “Franko Drive”, second place was taken by the team “Franko-Drohobychanky”, and third place was awarded to the team “Franko’s Lions”.
After the official part, a concert programme featuring creative groups and performers was held for participants and guests. Ukrainian folk, contemporary and patriotic songs were performed on stage, and the festive atmosphere was enhanced by vibrant children’s dance performances.
The event was organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism Development of Drohobych City Council, which prepared a rich arts and concert programme.
