The main exhibition ‘Glyptothek’ has started in Lviv as part of Sculpture Week.
‘The Sculpture Week aims to extend beyond the walls of galleries and move into public space. Because every sculpture, every object installed in an open urban space is seen thousands of times more’, says the chief curator Pavlo Hudimov.
The exhibition is digitized, with QR codes allowing visitors to learn more about the works and their authors. ‘Art festivals that were born during the war are incredibly valuable’, notes Lviv’s Mayor Andriy Sadovyi.
The project unites historical and contemporary works, combining efforts of the Lviv City Council and cultural institutions. Events take place at more than 10 locations in the city, involving over 20 artists from Ukraine and around the world.
