Tomorrow, 19 November, the 23rd annual International Literary and Artistic Project Second Autumn, dedicated to the anniversary of Bruno Schulz’s death, will begin in Drohobych.
For two days, the city will host various literary, artistic, scientific events and creative presentations.
The art project was initiated by the Ihor Menko Polonist Research and Information Centre of Drohobych University, organised jointly with the University of Krakow of the National Education Commission, the Bruno Schulz Festival Society (Lublin), and the Polish Institute in Kyiv.
The two-day cycle of Second Autumn events will begin with a traditional ecumenical meeting. Everyone is invited to join a common prayer on 19 November at 11:00 at the place where Bruno Schulz was killed, near Stepan Bandera Park. Participants will also pray for the fallen defenders of Ukraine and for all the innocent victims tortured and killed by Russian terror.
As part of the project, a number of literary, artistic and scientific events will take place in Drohobych. These include author meetings with Ukrainian and Polish writers, discussions and presentations, performative poetry and music projects, and vocal concerts.
Among the guests of the project are Grzegorz Gauden, Oleksandr Boychenko, Yaroslav Kursky, Andriy Pavlyshyn, Pawel Pruchniak, Ariel Rose, Natalia Belchenko, Kateryna Hladka, Yurko Prokhasko, Hanelle Palkova, Monika Schneiderman, Natalia Filevych, Danylo Ilnytsky, Jacek Podsiadlo, Hryhoriy Semenchuk, Diana Horban, Lyuba-Paraskeviya Strynadyuk, and Eva Rajska.
The project will be held under the honorary patronage of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, the Mayor of Drohobych and the Head of Drohobych District Administration.
