
In the Sheptytskyi district of Lviv region, police have detained a local man who stabbed his 57-year-old fellow villager during a domestic dispute.
The victim was hospitalized with a penetrating abdominal wound, while the attacker was apprehended under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The incident occurred on November 12 around 7:30 PM in one of the villages in the district. According to investigators, an argument broke out between two men aged 48 and 57, during which the younger one pulled out a knife and stabbed the older man in the stomach. The assailant then fled the scene.
Through investigative efforts, officers of the criminal police, detectives, and other units of the Sheptytskyi district police department located and detained the suspect.
Under the procedural guidance of the Sheptytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, the man was formally charged with committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional grievous bodily harm. This offense carries a penalty of five to eight years of imprisonment.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon determine the suspect’s preventive measure.
