The court has ordered the return to communal ownership of 2 hectares of forest land that had been used in breach of the terms of a contract. This was reported by the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office.
The case concerns a long-term temporary forest use agreement concluded in 2017 between the Pustomyty subsidiary forestry enterprise of LGP “Halsillis” and a private individual. The plot was granted for 15 years for use for recreational purposes.
The prosecutor’s office established that the user had systematically failed to meet their financial obligations. Of the more than UAH 203,000 that should have been paid for the years of use, the entrepreneur transferred less than half, and since 2022 had stopped making payments altogether.
The violations identified formed the basis for the prosecutor’s claim in court. The court terminated the contract for long-term temporary forest use and fully upheld the prosecutors’ claims.
The court’s decision has now been enforced: the 2-hectare forest plot has been returned to the control of the Lviv Regional Council.
