Over the course of three months, a 39-year-old resident of the Zolochiv Region committed four different criminal offences, for which he was sentenced to six and a half years in prison. Prosecutors from the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office proved his guilt in court.
Between December 2024 and March 2025, the man committed several crimes. Notably, he stole a bicycle worth over 9,000 hryvnias from the entrance of a building in Brody. Later, he sold three buprenorphine tablets, obtained for therapy at the hospital, near a school in Brody for 400 hryvnias.
The convicted man also sent over 5 grams of cannabis to the “Lviv Penal Institution No. 19“, concealing it in a deodorant. However, the institution’s staff discovered the drugs. Additionally, he cut down three hornbeams in the “Lagodiv Nature Reserve”, causing damage to the Brody Town Council amounting to over 13,000 hryvnias.
The man was charged with theft, illegal logging, and illegal distribution of drugs. The court’s verdict will come into effect after the appeal period concludes.
