Traffic Incident in Lviv: Teenagers Injured on Bicycle and Scooter

In Lviv, two traffic incidents occurred over the past day, resulting in injuries to teenagers. The police urge all road users to adhere to the rules and to be cautious and careful on the roads.

The first incident happened on 19th May at 17:00 on Lypynskyi Street, where a 25-year-old female driver of a BMW collided with an electric bicycle being ridden by a 15-year-old local boy. As a consequence, the teenager required hospitalisation due to bodily injuries sustained.

The second accident occurred at 15:20 on Chornovil Avenue. A 13-year-old boy from Lviv, riding an electric scooter, collided with a Toyota Corolla driven by a 30-year-old resident of Lviv. The young participant in the traffic incident sustained injuries and was hospitalised.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated for these incidents under part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for a penalty of up to three years of restriction of freedom with the revocation of a driving license for up to three years. All circumstances of the incidents are being investigated.
