A 31-year-old resident of Stryi district has been found guilty of the illegal circulation of prohibited substances and sentenced to 6 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property. This was reported by the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
The court established that in June-July last year the woman twice sold the particularly dangerous psychotropic substance PVP. She handed over the “goods” to buyers through the window of the house in one of the villages of Stryi district where she lived. For each dose she received 2,000 UAH in cash.
During a search of the property, law enforcement officers also discovered cannabis extract which, according to the investigation, the woman had acquired and kept for her own use.
She had previously been held criminally liable for the illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic substances. In 2024, the court imposed a fine of 42,500 UAH, which has still not been paid.
This time she was charged with the illegal acquisition and possession with intent to sell, as well as repeated illegal sale of a psychotropic substance, and also the illegal acquisition and possession of a narcotic substance without intent to sell, committed within a year of the previous conviction (Part 2 of Article 307, Part 2 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Until the verdict comes into legal force, the convicted woman will remain in custody. The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigative division of the police department of Stryi District Police Directorate of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region. The verdict will come into legal force after the expiry of the appeal period.
