On the road leading to the town of Sheptytskyi, a road traffic collision occurred in which one person was killed and two others were injured. The Rescue Service was informed of the incident today at 10:48.
According to preliminary information, a Renault Megane and a Peugeot Partner collided. Fire and rescue units from the towns of Sheptytskyi and Sokal were dispatched to the scene to provide assistance.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Peugeot died at the scene from her injuries. Her body was trapped by the deformed structure of the car, so rescuers used specialist equipment to free her.
In the Renault, the driver and a passenger were also trapped. Rescuers used hydraulic equipment to release the casualties and hand them over to medics. Both were taken to a medical facility with injuries of varying severity.
Seven rescuers and two units of specialist equipment were involved in dealing with the aftermath of the collision. The circumstances of the crash are being established by law enforcement officers.
