In the Lviv region, an indictment has been sent to court against a state registrar of one of the town councils in the region, who is accused of unlawfully registering a garden house and abusing her official authority. This was reported by law enforcement agencies.
According to the investigation, in 2024 the official, acting out of self-interest and without proper legal grounds, carried out a state registration of ownership of a garden house in favour of one of the citizens. At the same time, she unauthorisedly amended information processed in the automated system of the State Register of Proprietary Rights to Immovable Property.
Investigators established that the registration of the house was carried out in the absence of information on the assignment of an address to it and on registered title to the land plot on which the property was constructed. In fact, this land plot belongs to another person – the former wife of the house owner.
As a result of these actions, according to the investigators’ calculations, the woman suffered losses of more than 365 thousand hryvnias, representing half the value of the house, which is jointly acquired property during the marriage.
The abuse was uncovered by officers of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in the Lviv region together with investigators of Police Station No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorised actions with information in automated systems committed by a person who has the right of access to it) and Part 1 of Article 365-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of authority by persons providing public services) has been completed, and the indictment has been sent for trial.
The accused faces a custodial sentence of up to three years.
