Burning dry grass is not a tradition or a form of tidying up, but a crime that incurs significant fines. For citizens, these range from 3,060 to 6,120 hryvnias, and for officials — from 15,300 to 21,420 hryvnias.
It is worth considering whether a pile of dry weeds is worth such expenses, or whether a “clean” yard is worth the risk of burning down a neighbour’s house or leaving behind a blackened wasteland.
