In the Lviv region, an indictment has been submitted to court against a 60-year-old man in whose house law enforcement officers discovered an arsenal of weapons and ammunition. This was reported by the Pustomyty District Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, on 20 May this year, after a conflict with his father, a 15-year-old boy called the emergency line “102” and reported domestic violence, as well as the presence of weapons and ammunition in the home.
Police officers promptly responded to the call and, during a search of the house, found and seized two F-1 type grenades and two detonators for them, almost 600 rounds of various calibres, a PW wz.33 pistol, a Vepr-308 carbine, as well as eight magazines for automatic weapons.
The minor’s father was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. In addition to the criminal proceedings, the man will also be held administratively liable for domestic violence.
He is charged with the unlawful acquisition and possession of ammunition and firearms without the permit required by law under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by Investigation Unit No. 1 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
Pursuant to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and may not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt has been proven in the manner prescribed by law and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
