In Lviv region, a man suspected of systematically raping his underage stepdaughter has been exposed

In Lviv region, a man suspected of prolonged sexual abuse of his underage stepdaughter has been exposed. According to law enforcement officers, starting from August 2025, over the course of almost a year he repeatedly committed acts of a sexual nature and raped his young foster daughter.

At the time the criminal actions began, the girl was 14 years old. The suspect forced her to fulfil his sexual fantasies, subjecting the child to physical and psychological abuse: he beat her, forbade her to leave the house and communicate with friends, and deprived her of access to a mobile phone.

In addition, according to the investigation, the man threatened to rape the younger sister of the victim, who was also being raised in this foster family.

The individual was exposed by operatives of the Cybercrime Counteraction Department in Lviv region together with investigators from Police Station No. 2 of the Stryi District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigators have notified the man that he is suspected of committing offences under Part 2 of Article 156 (corruption of minors), Part 3 of Article 153 (sexual violence) and Part 3 of Article 152 (rape) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanctions under these articles provide for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to twelve years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and in the near future the court is to decide on a preventive measure for the suspect.
