In Lviv region over the past day, rescuers extinguished 29 fires, including 19 blazes in ecosystems. While tackling the flames, firefighters prevented the fire from destroying three buildings.
According to emergency services, the most common cause of such fires remains human carelessness, in particular the burning of dry vegetation.
Rescuers are urging residents of the region not to burn dry grass and to strictly observe fire safety rules, as, despite round-the-clock duty by the services, safety largely depends on the responsible behaviour of citizens.
