
On the Kyiv–Chop motorway in Zolochiv district a road traffic collision occurred, as a result of which three people were injured. This was reported by the Zolochiv District Police Department.
The crash happened on 15 August at around 17:20. According to preliminary police information, a VAZ-2107, driven by a 20-year-old resident of one of the villages in the district, collided with a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 19-year-old resident of a neighbouring village.
As a result of the collision, both drivers and a 19-year-old passenger in the VAZ-2107 sustained bodily injuries. All the injured were taken to hospital.
Investigators from Police Station No. 1 of the Zolochiv District Police Department have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for the same period.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
