Near the village of Dubrovitsia in the Yavoriv district, a road traffic accident occurred, resulting in injuries to five people. The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident, which took place on 25 April.
According to preliminary data, a 45-year-old driver of a Renault Master from the Rivne region collided with a Mercedes-Benz vehicle with a trailer, driven by a 49-year-old resident of the Odessa region. Five passengers of the Renault Master were injured — residents of Lutsk aged 58 and 57, as well as three residents of the Rivne region aged 13, 22, and 47. They have all been hospitalised.
Concerning the accident, the Yavoriv district police department opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the violation of traffic safety rules. The sanction of the article provides for up to three years of restraint of liberty and deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years. Law enforcement officers continue to ascertain the circumstances of this occurrence.
