
In Lviv, at 1 Chmoly Street, a road traffic collision occurred in which a pedestrian was injured. Law enforcement officers are asking witnesses to come forward.
According to the Lviv District Police Department No. 2, the collision took place on 9 August at around 21:50. Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of a Mazda, a 45-year-old Lviv resident, struck a pedestrian, a 32-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital.
On the basis of this incident, investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road safety regulations. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving for up to three years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
