Fire Damages Waste Collection Site in Lviv

During the night of 30th March 2026, a fire broke out at a waste collection site on Hrinchenka Street, 2a in Lviv. As a result of the fire, 6 containers were burnt, and the structure of the site suffered significant damage. Preliminary estimates put the cost of the damage at nearly 120 thousand hryvnias. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the authorities.

The waste collection site was equipped with a metal structure with compartments for rubbish, but after the fire, its parts were left covered in soot, and sections of the metal were burnt. At the scene of the fire, a dark charred strip with remnants of ash remained.

  • The damage to the 6 containers is estimated at 50,400 UAH.
  • The damage to the site will cost 69,000 UAH.

Representatives of the LKP “Household Waste Management Service Administrator” remind everyone of the need to adhere to safety rules: do not dispose of hazardous waste in the containers and park vehicles at a safe distance from the sites.
