The accident occurred on 27 September at 8.55am on the Kyiv-Chop motorway in the village of Tukholka.
Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Ssang Yong, a 21-year-old resident of Kharkiv, lost control of the vehicle – the vehicle drove into the oncoming lane, collided with a metal bumper, and then, moving by inertia, collided with a Citroen driven by a 25-year-old resident of a neighbouring village.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Citroen and her two passengers, aged 52 and 4, were injured. They were taken to hospital.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules). The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
