In the Lviv region, throughout the past day, firefighters recorded 36 fires in ecosystems, which turned natural landscapes into charred remains. The fires damaged over 2 hectares of land, which harmed small animals and insects and polluted the air.
Each call-out of the firefighters involved significant expenses, including fuel and technical resources, not to mention the efforts of the firefighters themselves. The main department of the State Emergency Service in Lviv Region appeals to the public to stop setting dry grass alight. This is a crime against nature, which can lead to both administrative and criminal liability.
User Lyubomyr Khapko-Kulchytsky believes this is due to the inaction of local government bodies and the police.
