In Lviv, a 21-year-old local resident has been sentenced to 6 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property for storing and preparing for sale more than 260 g of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in large quantities. This was reported by the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv.
According to the investigation, at the beginning of April 2026 the man purchased, via the Telegram messenger, a master stash containing cannabis, amphetamine, PVP and ecstasy tablets. He then planned to distribute so-called “dead drops” near the city park “Vysokyi Zamok”, but was detained by law enforcement officers under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
During the search of the detainee, officers seized 33 packets of cannabis weighing 27.4 g, 20 packets containing a crystalline substance resembling PVP weighing 10.5 g, as well as 10 packets of amphetamine weighing 4.5 g. Later, law enforcement officers carried out a search at his place of residence, where they found more than 210 g of cannabis, 6 g of PVP, ecstasy tablets and amphetamine packaged in packets and zip-lock bags.
The man was charged with the illegal acquisition and storage for the purpose of sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and particularly dangerous psychotropic substances in large quantities, committed by a group of persons acting in prior conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He will remain in custody until the verdict comes into legal force.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region. The court verdict will come into legal force after the expiry of the time limit for lodging an appeal.
