In a park area of Lviv, near one of the nursery schools, law enforcement officers found 75 wraps containing the psychotropic substance PVP on two young men. This was reported under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv.
According to the investigation, the 19-year-old and 20-year-old suspects illegally purchased the particularly dangerous psychotropic substance PVP via one of the Telegram channels for further distribution using so-called “dead drops”.
On 22 July this year, law enforcement officers stopped the men in a park near the nursery school. During a search of their rucksack, they found and seized 75 hermetically sealed wraps of PVP prepared for sale. The total weight of the seized psychotropic substance is about 90 g.
The men have been notified of suspicion of illegal purchase and possession for the purpose of sale of a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, in an especially large quantity under Part 3 Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the request of the prosecution, preventive measures in the form of remand in custody have been applied to them.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative division of Police Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Directorate No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the criminal offence and any other potentially involved persons.
In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a guilty verdict of a court.
