On the evening of July 8, an incident occurred in the Sykhiv district of Lviv involving employees of the territorial recruitment center and local residents, during which a TCC service vehicle was blocked and damaged.
Throughout the evening and night, the mayor of Lviv, the head of the regional military administration, and the Lviv Regional TCC and SP issued official statements.
Statement by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi
In his Telegram channel, Andriy Sadovyi said that he was outside Lviv on the day of the incident:
“Today I was working in the Zaporizhzhia sector with our defenders. I am already on my way home. I am now clarifying all the circumstances regarding the situation in Sykhiv. I will report as soon as I have complete and verified information. In the meantime, I ask everyone to remain calm, be wise, and not forget who our real enemy is!”
Statement by Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration
Late in the evening, the head of the regional military administration reported in his official Telegram channel about an urgent meeting with law enforcement officers regarding the situation involving the blocking of TCC vehicles in Sykhiv:
“The top priority is to ensure public order! All those who committed offenses, including obstructing the activities of servicemen, must be identified and held accountable. There is no place for lawlessness in the Lviv region!”
At the same time, Kozytskyi said that the regional TCC and SP would conduct an internal investigation into the legality of the actions of TCC and SP servicemen in notifying a citizen born in 1996 who was wanted by authorities.
“I urge everyone to remember the law and the fact that we have one enemy,” the head of the regional military administration concluded.
Statement by the Lviv Regional TCC and SP
The Lviv Regional TCC and SP reported that during notification measures carried out jointly with the police, a citizen was stopped for a document check who had been wanted since June 12 as a violator of military registration rules. The man was taken to the TCC and is currently being sent to undergo a military medical commission.
The agency also noted that another notification group that remained at the scene was blocked: unidentified persons surrounded the service vehicle, significantly damaged it, and eventually overturned it.
Police data
Alina Podreiko, spokesperson for the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, confirmed that the man identified was born in 1996, had violated military registration rules, and had been wanted since June 12, 2026. Police officers were working at the scene to ensure public order.
Thus, the authorities’ official position covers both areas: the actions of those who damaged the service vehicle will receive a legal assessment, while the regional TCC will simultaneously review the legality of its own servicemen’s actions during the notification process.
