Man in Lviv Exposed for Distributing Child Pornography

A 33-year-old resident of the Sheptytsky District in Lviv has been exposed for suspected possession and distribution of pornography, including materials involving children. This has been a significant case for the city, as reported on Facebook. The man faces a potential prison sentence of up to twelve years.

The perpetrator was exposed by operatives from Lviv’s cybercrime unit, in collaboration with officers from Police Department No.1 of Lviv District Police Management No.2. It has been established that the suspect uploaded video and graphic files containing child pornography and distributed them via a messenger.

He has been notified of suspicion under parts 3 of Article 301-1 and part 2 of Article 301 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty includes imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years and a ban on certain activities for three years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office.

The court has already chosen to remand the suspect in custody. The National Police of Ukraine, along with the Cyber Police, continue to pursue the case.
