21-year-old dealer of psychotropic substance PVP arrested in Lviv with 40g of the substance

Criminal police officers, working alongside investigators and staff from other units of Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Directorate No. 2, detained a 21-year-old local resident on Ivana Franka Street in Lviv on 9 March. He is suspected of acquiring and storing a psychotropic substance with intent to supply. Procedural oversight of the case is being carried out by the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office. At the time of the arrest, officers discovered on the man what is known as a “master stash” — a zip-lock bag containing a substance resembling the psychotropic PVP, with a total weight of approximately 40 grams. The seized item has been sent for forensic examination.

The suspect has previous criminal convictions for drug-related offences. He has been formally notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the unlawful acquisition, storage, and supply of psychotropic substances.

The maximum penalty under this article provides for imprisonment of up to twelve years with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
