In Lviv, on Rakhivska Street, police officers detained two residents of the Sheptytskyi district aged 25 and 28, who are suspected of distributing the psychotropic substance PVP by means of so-called “stashes”. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the men received wholesale batches of the psychotropic substance PVP, so-called “master stashes”, and then sold it in smaller quantities, making “stashes” around the city.
On 10 August, operatives together with investigators from Police Department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Directorate No. 2 detained the suspects under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They seized a package containing the psychotropic substance PVP weighing more than 18 grams, which was sent for expert examination.
In addition, law enforcement officers seized magnets, packaging materials, electronic scales and other physical evidence which, according to the investigation, confirms the detainees’ involvement in unlawful activities.
Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural guidance of the prosecution authorities, notified the men that they are suspected under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues). The article provides for a penalty of up to twelve years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspects in the form of detention in custody without the possibility of bail.
