Suspect Detained in Lviv for Cultural Centre Arson

In the city of Lviv, law enforcement officers have detained a 19-year-old man from the Khmelnytskyi region, suspected of setting fire to an Islamic religious and cultural centre. The incident occurred on 28 April. According to preliminary information, the perpetrator used two bottles with an incendiary mixture. Although the fire was extinguished, the organisation incurred damages amounting to 250,000 hryvnias.

Members of the investigation and operational group, as well as representatives from the Lviv Criminal Investigation Department and the Security Service of Ukraine, acted swiftly to locate and detain the suspect. He is accused of deliberate damage to or destruction of property, which carries a sentence of imprisonment from three to ten years.

Currently, the pre-trial investigation is ongoing, with the accused awaiting a court decision that will determine his future.
