In the village of Pluhiv in the Zolochiv district a road traffic accident occurred, after which a lorry caught fire. The incident was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.
Today at 17:02 the Rescue Service received a report of a lorry fire. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control, the vehicle veered into a ditch, after which it caught fire.
When the fire and rescue units arrived at the scene, the lorry was already completely engulfed in flames. In the cab, rescuers discovered the body of the deceased driver – a man born in 1970.
The fire was contained at 17:27 and fully extinguished at 17:44. Three rescuers and one unit of specialised equipment were involved in tackling the blaze.
The causes and circumstances of the accident are being established by law enforcement agencies.
