A road traffic incident involving injury to a pedestrian occurred on 17 October at around 22:40 in the village of Ripniv, Zolochiv district.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the driver of a Ford Focus, a 21-year-old resident of Zolochiv district, ran into a 46-year-old pedestrian, who is also a resident of the district.
As a result of the accident, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was taken to a medical facility.
Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years of restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
