Firefighters Save Home in Zavadivka, Woman Injured

Firefighters from Sambir region swiftly extinguished a fire in a residential house in the village of Zavadivka. The main danger was the spread of the blaze, which had engulfed the roof and ceiling over an area of approximately 120 square metres.

The incident occurred on 12 April at around 17:48. Fire brigades from the town of Turka and the settlement of Borynia were dispatched to the scene. Due to heavy smoke, the firefighters were compelled to work in special protective equipment.

The fire’s origin was in an annex where a boiler was located. The homeowner, upon noticing the threat, called the firefighters and attempted to save belongings, but suffered first and second-degree thermal burns to her hands. She was taken to Turka Central Hospital in a moderate condition.

Thanks to the firefighters’ efforts, the blaze was localised at 18:43 and completely extinguished by 19:08. Eight firefighters and two units of special equipment were involved in the firefighting operation.

Experts are currently determining the causes of the fire and the circumstances of its occurrence.
