A tragic fire occurred in Novyi Rozdil, claiming the life of a 50-year-old woman. The incident happened on 4th May at 16:08, when the rescuers received a report of a fire in a flat on the ground floor of a residential building on Ivana Franka Street.
Upon the firefighters’ arrival, the premises were filled with thick toxic smoke. Household items were burning over an area of 5 square metres. During their search, the rescuers discovered the body of the flat’s owner showing no signs of life.
Two dogs were also in the smoke-filled dwelling, which the rescuers carried out into the fresh air, saving them. The fire was localised at 17:02 and completely extinguished by 17:11.
The causes of the fire and the circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated by law enforcement. Rescuers urge citizens to adhere to fire safety rules, as even minor negligence can lead to tragic consequences.
