In Zolochiv District of Lviv region, seven communities are implementing winter resilience plans. They have focused primarily on energy autonomy for medical and educational institutions, uninterrupted water and heat supply, as well as ensuring the readiness of shelters and Invincibility Points for around 162,000 residents of the district. This was reported by the Zolochiv District State Administration of Lviv region.
According to the district administration, 83 educational institutions and 9 medical facilities already have backup power. One of the key projects has been implemented at the Busk Central District Hospital: with the support of the Energy of Ukraine Foundation, a solar power plant with a capacity of 80 kW and a value of over UAH 3.3 million has been installed here. This will enable the hospital to operate continuously even during emergency power outages.
At the same time, other communities in Zolochiv District are also reinforcing their own infrastructure. The Brody, Krasne, Pomoriany and Zabolottsi communities have purchased new generators for schools and kindergartens. In the Pidkamin community, a municipal enterprise has received a backup power source, and the local Invincibility Point has been additionally equipped with the necessary devices.
In Zolochiv, a new shelter has been set up, the work of three Invincibility Points has been strengthened, and the equipment of the town’s wastewater system has been protected so that it can operate under unstable power supply conditions.
Further plans in the district include installing solar power plants at water utility facilities in Zolochiv and Busk, installing a solar power station at Zolochiv Hospital and at one of the schools in the Krasne community, as well as launching a rooftop boiler house in a residential building. These measures are intended to increase the resilience of critical infrastructure to possible power supply disruptions in winter.
