On December 16 at 16:22, the Rescue Service “101” received a report about a fire in the village of Lypnyk in the Lviv District. The fire broke out in a two-story residential building constructed from aerated concrete blocks and covered with metal tiles. The building measures 10×12 meters.
Rescuers from Rava-Ruska and members of the local fire brigade from Dobrosyn promptly arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, it was determined that a solid-fuel boiler and household items were burning over an area of approximately 10 square meters.
As a result of the fire, two individuals sustained second-degree burns to the head, arms, and legs. The victims, who were in moderate condition, were transported by medical personnel to St. Luke’s Hospital of the First Territorial Medical Association in Lviv.
The fire was localized at 16:49 and fully extinguished by 17:06. Four rescuers and one fire engine from the State Emergency Service, along with two members of the local fire brigade and one fire engine, were involved in the firefighting efforts.
The cause and circumstances of the fire are currently under investigation.
