On December 31 at 3:44 a.m., the Rescue Service “101” received a report of a fire in the village of Velykosilky, Lviv district. The fire broke out in a single-story wooden residential house.
By the time firefighters arrived, the building was partially engulfed in flames. During the firefighting operation, the body of the homeowner, a 92-year-old man, was discovered.
The fire completely destroyed the residential building, but firefighters managed to prevent the flames from spreading to a nearby outbuilding.
The fire was localized at 5:10 a.m. and fully extinguished by 6:54 a.m. Firefighters from Kamianka-Buzka and the local fire team from Novyi Yarychiv participated in the operation.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of adhering to fire safety rules, especially during the winter season.
