A new School No. 41 with a shelter is nearing completion in Bryukhovychi

Construction of the new School No. 41 in Bryukhovychi is entering its final stage. According to the deputy director of the Department of Humanitarian Policy of the Lviv City Council, Chrystyna Protsak, contractors have completed the main façade works and are actively landscaping the area around the building.

Pedestrian paths, a car parking area and separate plots for greenery have already been arranged around the school. The space is gradually taking on a finished appearance. A significant amount of work has also been carried out inside the building: wall paintings have appeared in the assembly hall, painting works are ongoing in the sports and gymnastics halls, ceilings have been installed in the corridors, and lifts have been fitted. The stairwells are still missing handrails, but their installation is planned to begin in the near future.

The construction of School No. 41 is considered one of the community’s most anticipated educational projects. Implementation began several years ago, but the full-scale war delayed the works. The project was brought to completion thanks to the attraction of international funding.

“The construction of the school is financed under the Emergency Credit Programme for the Recovery of Ukraine with the support of the European Investment Bank. In total, almost UAH 200 million of EIB funds have been allocated for the project. It is important to understand that this is targeted financing, which the bank provides specifically for the reconstruction and development of social infrastructure – schools, hospitals and other facilities that are important for communities,” noted Chrystyna Protsak.

According to the architects’ design, the new school will have an area of over 9 thousand square metres. The complex will consist of three academic blocks connected by convenient passageways. The institution will feature a large assembly hall, three sports halls for different types of activities, as well as a spacious shelter that will form part of a safe learning environment.

In addition to teaching premises, the project includes landscaping of the grounds and the arrangement of a convenient car park. At the same time, preserving the existing greenery has been identified as one of the priorities for the completion of the works.
