In Lviv, two children deprived of parental care have been placed for upbringing and cohabitation in a family-type children’s home within the Lviv community. The relevant decision was adopted by the executive committee of the Lviv City Council.
According to the city department “Service for Children’s Affairs”, these children had been under the care of social services for a long time and were in need of stable care and support. Once they had been granted the necessary status and all procedures had been completed, a decision was taken to place them in a family-based form of care.
The department emphasises that living in a family environment enables a child to feel safe, loved and cared for by adults who support them and help them build their future.
The Lviv community continues to develop family-based forms of care, as the family is considered the best environment for a child’s development and upbringing.
Those wishing to become foster parents and offer children the warmth of a family home are invited to contact the “Service for Children’s Affairs” department of the Lviv City Council.
