The Diia app has reinstated payments of UAH 5,000 under the “School Starter Pack” scheme

The “School Starter Pack” assistance service has resumed operation in the Diia app. Parents and legal guardians can receive UAH 5,000 to prepare a child for Year One. The funds may be spent on books, stationery, school supplies, clothing and footwear.

An application for the payment may be submitted by one of the parents, an adoptive parent or the child’s legal representative, provided they are a citizen of Ukraine. For orphans and children deprived of parental care, the application is submitted by the legal representative at a service centre of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

To apply for the “School Starter Pack” via Diia, you need to log in to the app, open the “State assistance” section and select the “School Starter Pack” service. Then select the child who is starting Year One, proceed to submit the application, open a Diia.Card with one of the authorised banks (if you do not yet have one) and choose the special “Care for the child” account for the funds to be credited to. Once the data have been verified, the application is signed with Diia.Signature.

For those who prefer to apply in person, it is still possible to submit an application offline at any service centre of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

The “School Starter Pack” project has been implemented on the initiative of the President of Ukraine. It was developed by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and Diia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Pension Fund of Ukraine, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine under the “Diia Support Project” funded by Sweden, as well as the Swiss-Ukrainian project DECIDE “Decentralisation for the Development of Democratic Education”, which is being implemented in Ukraine by a consortium comprising the NGO DOCCU and Zurich University of Teacher Education with the support of Switzerland.
