Sokal City Council allocates over UAH 8 million to support the military, healthcare and infrastructure

At the session of Sokal City Council held on 28 August 2026, councillors approved the allocation of funds for a number of important programmes for the Sokal urban territorial community and to support other regions of Ukraine.

In particular, the Programme to support the material and technical provision of military units and military medical institutions of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for 2026 has been allocated UAH 2,052.0 thousand.

The Programme for the provision of medicines and medical products for privileged categories of the population in the Sokal urban territorial community for 2026–2027 has been allocated UAH 539.0 thousand. Of this amount, UAH 270.0 thousand has been earmarked for free medicines for combatants, persons with disabilities as a result of the war, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity and family members of fallen servicemen who directly took part in the ATO/JFO. A further UAH 69.0 thousand has been allocated to provide medicines for other privileged categories of the population, and UAH 200.0 thousand for free dental prosthetics for the above-mentioned categories.

Under the Programme for amenities in the Sokal urban territorial community for 2026, UAH 1,000.0 thousand has been earmarked for the maintenance of the street and road network. Separately, the Programme for the development and maintenance of the street and road network in the Sokal urban territorial community for 2024–2027 has been allocated UAH 478.0 thousand.

Funding for the municipal institution “Veterans’ Space” will amount to UAH 671.1 thousand.

Institutions of general secondary education in the community have been allocated UAH 2,426.7 thousand for the purchase of coal and firewood for the heating season.

In addition, the session approved the allocation of another subsidy to the regional budget of Lviv Region in the amount of UAH 1,000.0 thousand. These funds are intended for the purchase of mobile shelters for frontline and active combat regions, including Dnipropetrovsk Region.
