In Lviv, on Ivan Mazepa Street, where large-scale reconstruction is under way, two kiosks are being dismantled as they are located within the red lines and obstruct roadworks. The relevant decision was taken on 19 June by the executive committee of Lviv City Council.
One of the kiosks stands on a section that has already been prepared for laying new road surfacing, with construction equipment placed nearby. According to the Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning Liubomyr Zubach, both temporary structures are hindering the repair of the street.
“These entrepreneurs have not submitted any proposals regarding a change of location. Accordingly, we have no other option but to dismantle the two kiosks within a tight timeframe” — Liubomyr Zubach
The official also reported that, regarding the kiosks located at the Topolia-1 market, entrepreneurs agreed on the need for changes, as the reconstruction of this strategic street is a priority for Lviv residents.
The day before, a session of Lviv City Council adopted a decision concerning the land plot on I. Mazepa Street: part of the Topolia-1 market area is to be cleared so that the road can be reconstructed on this section and the street widened.
