Voices from the Event
“For me, it’s an honor to give these young people, who grew up without parents, a chance for a better future. Every year, we allocate funds for such initiatives, and I’m grateful to the donors who make this possible,” said Mayor Andriy Sadovyi.
Lilia, a 21-year-old recipient, shared her joy:
“It’s amazing to have my own place now. I no longer have to worry about rent or income. It’s a dream that could have taken years to achieve.”
Marta Hrytsyk, operational director of the “Ridni” Foundation, emphasized:
“We have supported Lilia for years, so helping her secure her own home was a natural step. Supporting orphans is a core mission of our foundation.”
Program Overview
Since its launch in 2016, Lviv’s co-financing program has facilitated the purchase of 45 apartments for orphans and children deprived of parental care. The funding model covers 70% of housing costs from the city budget, with the remaining 30% provided by guardians or donors.
